Createing a collage for New Zealand

How I made my kiwi.

What I did first was I typed up brown texture then I choose a texture to use for my kiwi. Then I clicked an arrow that is next to the crop button. Then I turned the picture into two circle's. Then I put the two circle's together. Then I typed up yellow texture for the beak and legs. Then I pressed the arrow that is next to the crop button. Then I shaped the yellow into rectangles and triangles.  then I atached them to the body of the kiwi. Then when I did that I typed up black texture and turned it into a cricle for an eye then put it on. Then I put a line on the kiwis body for a wing. Then I made it so that the kiwi was one whole thing. Then I duplicated the kiwis. Once I'd done  that I typed up forest background texture then I put the background on then I'm finished.

Transformation using grids

Today we found an accredited image on Explore and selected it to use on our page. We then put a 5x5 grid on it so we could copy the image and make it original. Mrs Minehan selected the first two images so we could understand the process, then we got to choose our own image.
I found the first one very challenging.
The second one was so hard that I haveint even started it yet.
I chose the image of korus because I want to do something that is hard and easy to do.
Have you ever tried to transform an image using a grid? How did you find the process?

Animation

TITLE : Animation
LABELS: Cybersmart

Think about what you have been learning over the last week and write a post about it.
I have been learning about animation in the past week.
We were learning it so that we know all the tools on the slide on what to do and what not to do.
What I enjoyed most on doing Animation is duplicating the slide over and over again.
What I found challenging was when I have to find characters and backgrounds.
Have you ever made an Animation slide before?

My Maps

We learnt how to use Google MyMaps and then we got to look closely at our own environment and locate landmarks. For each landmark we found we had to name it, write something about it and find an image of it so that the pin on our map had information on it. This is my finished map of Kumara. Have you ever used MyMaps to locate places in your community?

Using Google sheets

This was my first time using Google sheets. We had to collect the data and put it on a spreadsheet. Then we clicked the bar graph button and it made a bar graph from our data. I found it a little bit hard to do but it looked cool. Have you ever used Google sheets for graphing before?

Homework should not be banned

Johanna
20/2/19

I don’t want homework to be banned because you learn  more
and some people love to do homework. Please don't ban
homework its cool and fun see I like it and some people don’t
you just have to do it. It doesn't matter

Sometimes people copy other people and they get in trouble
and then their mum or dad tells the teacher and then they get
in big trouble and then they go to the principal. You don't want
that to happen.

Homework is cool but sometimes it can be frustrating but you
just do it. Your mum or dad would be angry if you didn't do it .
It's good to do homework at home because your learning stuff
without the teacher. If you don’t have a homework book ask a
teacher for one because you need to learn in the holidays or
the weekend.

When it’s coming to the end of the year you still do your
homework also there is a thing called the summer learning
challenge. The summer learning challenge is something to do
in the holidays. You learn a lot’s it’s fun and good to do.
Here’s a photo of it.
Image result for summer learning journey

I done the summer learning challenge twice it was really fun as
it is a bit like homework but it isn't. So I'm going to do the 2019
to 2020 I hope it's not really hard and I hope it's going to be on

You have to do lots of work to learn you will figure out the stuff
a bit easier but when you go to highschool it changes it gets a
bit harder.  Because your older and your already know some
things so you have to have it harder you will still learn.

You then go to university and you do some work there lots
of work. But there hard so it's going to be tafe and really hard.

So you already know some stuff but there is still more to
learn when your a adout. There will be lots like in farming,
computer work and all that stuff you will get tort how to do it it
could be hard or easy.

Scooter, skateboards, ripsticks and bikes should not be banned on School grounds

I don't want the Scooters skateboards…. to be banned on school grounds. It's fun for kids because you can ride on them and do some awesome tricks. You won’t be able to go around the playground with your Scooters skateboards….. But don’t go over other games. Remember to put your safety gear on like helmets and be careful when you do tricks because you can hurt yourself. Some schools can’t have Scooters, skateboards…..  Because kids have been hurt. Also you have to look out of the way.

My mum is happy that Countdown and the other supermarkets are stopping plastic bags.  She has been bringing her own plastic bags to supermarket for over 10 years.  She is unhappy how plastic bags end up on our farm.

Activity 3: Restricted Access
I think the governments idea of restricting the number of tourist is great, and is right because of how much damage they have done to the place.  Cut down the numbers of tourist coming to Machu Picchu and hopefully the place will go back lovely again.

Day 3: Taking Action

Activity 1: Predator Free 2050 - A call to arms

The video I liked best was Predator Free Video #3 because how there going to kill them and how to do it.

My Idea of how to portent bird eggs
My idea is that we should make little cages for the birds and eggs. And you would have them in trees not to high up so in the morning you would have the cages open and when night comes you would have the cages closed with the bird and the eggs in it. But kiwis can't fly so you would have to a cage for them and have a little robot to keep an eye on the eggs.

Activity 2:  Protecting the Most Vulnerable - Fact or Fiction?

Fact or Fiction?

  • Māui dolphin only live up to 20 years
  • Females grow to 1.7m long and weigh up to 50 kg. Males are slightly smaller and lighter.
  • Māui dolphin are the smallest of the world's 32 dolphin species
  • Māui dolphin have distinctive red, white and black markings and a short snout.
  • They produce just one calf every 2 - 6 years, making population increase a very slow process.
  • Māui dolphins may only be able to grow their population by 3% a year. That means that a population of approximately 55 can only increase by 1 individual per year.
Activity 3: The power of ten

Top 10
  1. Amur Leopard: Because there is less than 70 left.

Day 5 Here to Stay

Activity 1: Persistent Pollution
Three new I learnt:

  6. Sleep on my bed
Activity 3: Let it Rain
I opened the door and... I see trees with no leaves and the plants around me were all brownish and the ground wasn't like grass anymore.
I went out to the lake and went to see some fish and they were all dead.  That was terrible. I felt sad and annoyed by the acid rain.  My family were shocked. It smelled disgusting.
When I went on my walk I find that all my familiar parts are gone. And now all my good views are not good anymore.
I fell terrible all that fish are all dead and some of my favorite things are ruined. I hope this doesn't happen again. THE END

Then one of the Mitai turned into a kereru and followed some fantails and the fantails turned into the women.  Then that man heard what the girls were saying about the men starving to death. Then he went back and told the men that they were going to make them starve to death. Then they made this magic net and then they scooped the fantails which were the women and then the women kept begging to get out to their husbands.  Then they brought them to the god of the stars.
