Day 4: Making promises

Activity 1: Campaigning for Conservation
Predator Free New Zealand: Pests-Lets get rid of them

Activity 2: The Plastic Pledge
My mum is happy that Countdown and the other supermarkets are stopping plastic bags.  She has been bringing her own plastic bags to supermarket for over 10 years.  She is unhappy how plastic bags end up on our farm.

Activity 3: Restricted Access
I think the governments idea of restricting the number of tourist is great, and is right because of how much damage they have done to the place.  Cut down the numbers of tourist coming to Machu Picchu and hopefully the place will go back lovely again.

  1. Hi Johanna,
Activity 1 I like your slogan and how you put the photo in the background. Maybe next time you could make it rhyme. My one was about plastic pledge and it was Get Rid Of Plastic Become Fantastic.
Activity 2 I like your photos with a tick and a x on the top to show what is right and wrong. wow has your mum been using reusable bags for 10 years! Maybe next time you could write what you think.
Activity 3 I agree I think it is great that they are stopping the amount of people going to visit a amazing place because they are damaging it but on my post I said they should come up with another way to visit it like have a helicopter going over the top. Maybe next time put what your task is in your post.
keep it up all most done

  3. Kia Ora Johanna!

It’s great to see you blogging with us! My Name is Hasiba, I am from Summer Learning Journey team. I love my job because I get to see heaps of Kiwi kids blogs!

Well done on your slogan! I like that you included photos in your post! Great choice of photo. No one would like to have pesky pests destroying their gardens.

I actually worked at Countdown for a long time. Just like your mum, I am happy that they finally went bagless! It’s awesome that there won't be as many plastic bags on your farm. I’m sure this is going to be an awesome change for our country!

Thank you for sharing your ideas on Machu Picchu! I unfortunately would have loved to visit Machu Picchu one day! But I understand why they need to restrict tourists. Peru is a gorgeous country and I love to travel! But you are right, they should restrict and limit the amount of tourists! Do you think we should restrict the number of tourists that come to NZ?

Keep up the creativity and hard work

  5. Nice to see you again Johanna,
I like your awesome effort for these last days of the Summer Learning Journey, it seems like you've been working very hard! Well done for completing another activity.

It is very upsetting that plastic bags are ending up all over farms, but it is very nice to hear your mum bringing her own personal bags for over 10 years, because that is a lot of plastic bags saved from going in the ocean. I also really like your slogan about getting rid of pests, because it is very catchy but simple.

    What is your favourite animal?

    Happy Blogging
