Day 2: Protecting our own

Activity 1: A flying fox

I would love to go on the flying fox because it would be really fun.  I would see the trees going past me. I would be really fast and make it fun.

Activity 2: A Protective Plant
I have a bit of a garden myself but its only strawberries and tomatoes.  My brother has a bit of a garden because he is growing apples trees that are growing really well and he and my sister have pumpkins.  My mum has a big garden, she has corn, peas, carrots, potatoes, chives, mint, lettice, broccoli, red onions and trying to grow capisum.

Activity 3: A House is Not a Home
Conserving Chuilexi Conservancy within Niassa National Reserve
I have chosen this project because it's a bit interesting how they are protecting areas where animals are and if they didn't protected that area they would be killed. They are protecting Lions, Wild Dogs and elephants.

  1. Hello Johanna

I am Vitaraag. I think it is very good that they are protecting animals and wildlife. I would not want to live in a world where they aren't here. I really like lions and wild dogs and elephants. I have a question, what are they doing to protect them? I was wondering this. Maybe next time you could tell us how they are protecting the animals.

  2. Hello Johanna,
WOW, 3 activities in 1 blog post is a very big achievement, so well done! I like how you assured us that they are trying their hardest to protect this wildlife, because I am a bit scared of our future. You and me will never know what will happen in the future until it gets here. Maybe next time you can give some more details about you going on the big zipline.

    Happy blogging

  3. Hi Johanna,

Flying foxes are really fun, aren't they? Ziplining isn't the same thing though, it's even more exciting and intense! Have you ever been ziplining before? It can be pretty nerve-wracking standing up so high being moments away from pushing your feet off the platform. I have actually been to the Rotorua ziplining canopy tour that was mentioned in this activity. It was an exhilarating experience and I would definitely do it again in a heartbeat! I recommend you swing by it if you ever get the chance to visit Rotorua, I think you will really enjoy it! I'm curious to know, are you afraid of heights?

I love that you grow your own strawberries and tomatoes, they're both really tasty and you can add them do your own fruit salads! Wow, your family grows a lot of wonderful fruits and veggies! All your meals must be super fresh and healthy to eat, yumm! I would love to know, what are ten fruits, veggies or herbs that you would like to grow in your garden? My top ten picks would be broccoli, celery, basil, watermelon, white peaches, mangoes, lychee, papayas, feijoa, and bok choy! Some of these fruits aren't grown in New Zealand though.

I like the project you have selected and it's really awesome to see that action has been taken to make sure that the animals living in the Niassa Reserve have protection. It's amazing what people can achieve when we come together and offer a helping hand, don't you think? There is still plenty of work to be done to ensure that we are able to protect these animals but any efforts made will always be helpful to their well-being.

    Keep it up,
    Evelyn :)

  5. Hi johanna
Activity 1 I would like to go on the zip line. Have you ever gone on a zip line and if you have how long did it go for. I have been on a couple of zip lines before that I sat on but once I went on a zip line that I was harnessed into but it did not go that far. Maybe next time write a bit more.
Activity 2 I like how you rote all the people in you family gardens but dose you dad have a garden. I love capsaicin is it hard to grow. Do you eat your brothers apples from his garden.
Activity 3 I think this is interesting as well. I like how you put a photo on your post. Yes I think there will be lion, wild dogs and elephants there.
    Good job
