Week 4 Day 4

Activity 1
Moana
There is a movie called Moana and there's this guy called Maui, he stole the heart from Te Fiti who is a goddess. Te Fiti was a mountain and once Maui took the heart from her, she became a lava monster and which made the islands go black and would kill the people who were on there.  Moana is a girl that saves the island and put the heart back into Te Fiti.
Moana was on a boat because she always wanted to go on a boat and sail out to sea but she failed and her mum and dad weren't happy.  Then one day Moana wanted to save the world and her mum and dad let her do it once.  She went out to sea, she went very far, she has a pet pig as well but it didn't come with her just the rooster. There is a very funny rooster that goes with Moana on the boat.   The rooster kept getting into the water because he was very silly.
Moana got in a storm and then she got washed up at an island that Maui was on.  Moana finds Maui on the island which he was stuck on for a million years.  Maui was stuck on the island because there was no hock and no boat to get him off the island.  Moana and Maui met.  Then they go on a big sailing adventure back to Te Fiti to return the heart. Which is a small green rock that Moana finds when she was little.

Activity 2
What do you think would be the most interesting and/or challenging things about being a farmer?
Doing all the work and doing it in the rain would be hard.  It would be interesting seeing baby animals growing up.

Would you like to be a farmer when you are older? Why/why not?
Yes I would like to be a farmer when I get older because my mum and dad are farmers and I like helping out on the farm. Second reason is having children and teaching them how to work on the farm.

Bonus Activity

My favorite song is Feel it still  written by Zachary Carothers, John Gourley and Kyle OQuin.  Sung by Portugal.  The Man.

The lyrics are:

Can't keep my hands to myself
Think I'll dust  'em off, put 'em back up on the shelf
In case my little baby girl is in need
Am I coming out of left field

Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
I been feeling it since 1966, now
Might be over now but I feel it still
Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
Let me kick it like it's 1986, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still

Got another mouth to feed
Leave her with a baby sitter, mama, call the grave digger
Gone with the fallen leaves
Am I coming out of left field?

Oo woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
I been feeling it since 1966, now
might've had your fill, but you feel it still
Ooh woo,  I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
I been feeling it since 1966, now
might be over now, but I feel it still

We could fight a war for peace
Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
Give in to that easy living
Goodbye to my hopes and dreams
Stop flipping for my enemies
We could wave until the walls come down
Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
It's time to give a little tip
Kids in the middle, move over 'til it falls
Don't bother me

Is it coming?
Is it coming?
Is it coming?
Is it coming?
Is it coming?
Is it coming back?

Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, yeah
Your love is an abyss for my heart to eclipse, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still

Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
I've been feeling it since 1966,now
Might be over now, but I feel it still
Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks, now
Let me kick it like it's 1986, now
Might be over now, but I feel it still
Might've had your fill, but you feel it still

  1. Kia ora Johanna,

My name is Megan and I am part of the Summer Learning Journey team commenting on your posts over summer. I am excited to see how busy you have been completing Summer Learning Journey activities. It is clear that you put in a lot of time into your work as they are all great quality.

I loved reading activity 1, where you described the movie Moana. It sounds like you know it well, how many times have you watched it? Do you have a favourite part of the movie? My favourite part is when Gramma's (Moana's Grandma) spirit turns into a stingray. This is a beautiful moment that always makes me emotional. My son's favourite part, is when Heihei (the rooster) is found on the boat with the coconut on his head.

What trait of Moana's inspires you the most? I find her motivation to help her village the most inspiring and very admirable.

Keep up the amazing work Johanna.

    Have a beautiful day,
    Megan :)

  2. Hey Johanna,

I loved reading about how both your Mum and Dad are farmers who inspire you to be a farmer. What kind of farm do your parents work on? In my home town of Taupo many of my friends live and work on dairy farms and I see them starting work at 4am. This early start does not attract me. However, I would love to live on a farm with a variety of animals in my back yard watching the baby animals grow.

Do you have any pets living on your farm?

I look forward to hearing from you,
    Megan :)

    2. Hello again Johanna,

Wow, you have a zoo load of animals. That must be so much fun. What animals do you find the most enjoyable to live with?

I have heard that cows have an amazing personality and are really fun to live with. Do you find this with your cows?

      Thank you for the response.

I hope you have an awesome day,
      Megan :)
