I think that the rule about fishing is correct because we don't get much fish when people get them.
Being charged $100,000 is a good amount because it stops people from fishing as its a lot of money.

Hello Johanna,
ReplyDeleteI like the way you think and I also think that giving them a fine of $100,000 will definitely warn them and hopefully scare them away from overfishing. You're absolutely right, $100,000 is a lot of money and you could do so much and buy so many things with that amount of money! Overfishing definitely has its consequences so it is good that we are able to limit the amount of fish people take by giving them fines for fishing in places where they shouldn't be fishing.
Thank you for including a link to show where you got your information. It's really great to see you doing the research to grow and support your knowledge. You are correct, the Cust river and Heathcote River are unfortunately on the list of polluted rivers in New Zealand. It's very unfortunate that a country as beautiful as ours also has its disturbing secrets. We must continue to take action and protect our lakes, the rivers, and our environment and there are many ways we can all help our country and the planet. I'm glad to know that people have started taking action and are coming together to clean up these rivers.
You have come up with three great ideas to help fundraise for the Great Barrier Reef. Maybe I could even try out a few of these ideas for any of the fundraising projects that I will have in my classroom in the future. I will definitely be thanking you for them! Have you ever participated in any of the three ideas you have listed?
Keep up the wonderful work,
Evelyn :)
