Homework should not be banned

Johanna
20/2/19

I don’t want homework to be banned because you learn  more
and some people love to do homework. Please don't ban
homework its cool and fun see I like it and some people don’t
you just have to do it. It doesn't matter

Sometimes people copy other people and they get in trouble
and then their mum or dad tells the teacher and then they get
in big trouble and then they go to the principal. You don't want
that to happen.

Homework is cool but sometimes it can be frustrating but you
just do it. Your mum or dad would be angry if you didn't do it .
It's good to do homework at home because your learning stuff
without the teacher. If you don’t have a homework book ask a
teacher for one because you need to learn in the holidays or
the weekend.

When it’s coming to the end of the year you still do your
homework also there is a thing called the summer learning
challenge. The summer learning challenge is something to do
in the holidays. You learn a lot’s it’s fun and good to do.
Here’s a photo of it.

I done the summer learning challenge twice it was really fun as
it is a bit like homework but it isn't. So I'm going to do the 2019
to 2020 I hope it's not really hard and I hope it's going to be on

You have to do lots of work to learn you will figure out the stuff
a bit easier but when you go to highschool it changes it gets a
bit harder.  Because your older and your already know some
things so you have to have it harder you will still learn.

You then go to university and you do some work there lots
of work. But there hard so it's going to be tafe and really hard.

So you already know some stuff but there is still more to
learn when your a adout. There will be lots like in farming,
computer work and all that stuff you will get tort how to do it it
could be hard or easy.

Scooter, skateboards, ripsticks and bikes should not be banned on School grounds

I don't want the Scooters skateboards…. to be banned on school grounds. It's fun for kids because you can ride on them and do some awesome tricks. You won’t be able to go around the playground with your Scooters skateboards….. But don’t go over other games. Remember to put your safety gear on like helmets and be careful when you do tricks because you can hurt yourself. Some schools can’t have Scooters, skateboards…..  Because kids have been hurt. Also you have to look out of the way.

Day 5: The sky's a limit!

Activity 1: Environment Day - Beat Plastic Pollution

Three things of how to save the planet

  1.  Stop using plastic that can get into the sea and kill the fish.
  2.  Stop leaving rubbish everywhere.
  3.  Don't use plastic straws
Activity 2:  Adoption Day

Three animals I would like to adopt
  1. Snowy owl
  2. Arctic Hare
  3. Cheetah
Similar: They are all very soft and fluffy. Different: The Snowy Owl can fly. The Arctic Hare can jump around and Cheetah's are very fast.

Activity 3: Concluding The Journey

I didn't know that the earth was having problems

The one thing that surprised me was how big the Tāne Mahuta is.

The one thing that upset me was how some country's have smog all over the Place and some people couldn't breath.

I would pick up rubbish and planting trees.

Day 4: Making promises

Activity 1: Campaigning for Conservation
Predator Free New Zealand: Pests-Lets get rid of them

Activity 2: The Plastic Pledge
My mum is happy that Countdown and the other supermarkets are stopping plastic bags.  She has been bringing her own plastic bags to supermarket for over 10 years.  She is unhappy how plastic bags end up on our farm.

Activity 3: Restricted Access
I think the governments idea of restricting the number of tourist is great, and is right because of how much damage they have done to the place.  Cut down the numbers of tourist coming to Machu Picchu and hopefully the place will go back lovely again.

Day 3: Taking Action

Activity 1: Predator Free 2050 - A call to arms

The video I liked best was Predator Free Video #3 because how there going to kill them and how to do it.

My Idea of how to portent bird eggs
My idea is that we should make little cages for the birds and eggs. And you would have them in trees not to high up so in the morning you would have the cages open and when night comes you would have the cages closed with the bird and the eggs in it. But kiwis can't fly so you would have to a cage for them and have a little robot to keep an eye on the eggs.

Activity 2:  Protecting the Most Vulnerable - Fact or Fiction?

Fact or Fiction?

  • Māui dolphin only live up to 20 years
  • Females grow to 1.7m long and weigh up to 50 kg. Males are slightly smaller and lighter.
  • Māui dolphin are the smallest of the world's 32 dolphin species
  • Māui dolphin have distinctive red, white and black markings and a short snout.
  • They produce just one calf every 2 - 6 years, making population increase a very slow process.
  • Māui dolphins may only be able to grow their population by 3% a year. That means that a population of approximately 55 can only increase by 1 individual per year.
Activity 3: The power of ten

Top 10
  1. Amur Leopard: Because there is less than 70 left.
  2. Gorillas:  There is less Gorillas in the world then there used to be.  Their babies are cute
  3. Sea turtles: I don't know a reason but I want them to be safe
  4. Orangutan: I think they are cool, hairy and have such long arms.
  5. Sumatran Elephant: I think they are cool animals and so big as they are the only things that are that big
  6. Tiger: Because they are cool cats and they are one of my favourite cats.
  7. Dolphins: Because they are very cool and they are beautiful
  8. Blue Whale: Because they are the larges animal in the world and its incredible they are very loud and you can hear them from hundreds of miles away.
  9. Arizona Agave: Because I've seen them before and I think they are cool to look at.
  10. Black Lion Tamarin: Because they look so cute and fury.

Day 2: Protecting our own

Activity 1: A flying fox

I would love to go on the flying fox because it would be really fun.  I would see the trees going past me. I would be really fast and make it fun.

Activity 2: A Protective Plant
I have a bit of a garden myself but its only strawberries and tomatoes.  My brother has a bit of a garden because he is growing apples trees that are growing really well and he and my sister have pumpkins.  My mum has a big garden, she has corn, peas, carrots, potatoes, chives, mint, lettice, broccoli, red onions and trying to grow capisum.

Activity 3: A House is Not a Home
Conserving Chuilexi Conservancy within Niassa National Reserve
I have chosen this project because it's a bit interesting how they are protecting areas where animals are and if they didn't protected that area they would be killed. They are protecting Lions, Wild Dogs and elephants.

Week 4: Protect and Preserve

Day 1 Preserving the pass

Activity 1: World of wearable

5 questions I would ask Dame Suzie Moncrieff.

  1. What dress do you like best?
  2. What material did you use to make the dress?
  3. When did you start making dress?
  4. Where were you born?
  5. How old are you?
Activity 2: Guardians of the sea
No I don't believe there are Taniwhas.  Because I've never seen one and watching the video it could have been a big fish.

Activity 3: The Sky in Shanghai

China is a good place but
Having smog around the place would be terrible
I wish it didn't happen, China is a bit of a cool place
News says that the smog is killing people
And I'm a little bit scare about going there with the smog that's killing people.
