Summer Learning Journey Week 3 Day 2

Day 2: Cracking The Code

Activity 1: Through Careful Observation

Whats happening in this picture is black birds going into a light place and white birds going in a dark place also the birds are turning from a field into birds. Every thing is the exacted same but different at the same time. The birds have a lot of detail on them to make them realistic. And they also look like big birds because you can see there big shadows. Everything is like opposite of colours. It's like looking into a page that's a bit bent.

Activity 2: Overcoming Adversity
When I went up Mt French it was very challenging because it was pouring with rain and it was very cold. Dad, Grandad and I had to stop a few times because we had to eat or drink. At one point I had to go toilet with Dad while Grandad made his way up. After awhile we caught up with him. Once we were at the top it was annoying because it was foggy and that meant we couldn't see the view. On the way down I started crying because my fingers were so sore that they hurt bad but I got over it after a while. After walking down the mountain I felt proud of myself.

Once there was a cat called cat that lived in a big hat. One day the cat went under a mat and a dog sat on the mat were the cat was. When the dog left the cat moved the mat and the cat was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo flat. Then the cat got up but the cat was still flat so the cat lived the rest of its life flat. Then one day the cat wanted revenge so the cat put the dog under the mat while it was sleeping. It took an hour to put the dog under the mat because the cat was weak because the cat is flat. So then the cat sat on the mat then the dog got flat. Then the cat walked back to the big hat. Then the dog woke up and removed the mat then the dog got mad because he was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo flat. Then along came a goat the dog went under the mat to hide from the cat. Then the goat sat on the mat were the dog was. THE END

Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Day 2

Day 2: Taking Action

Activity 1: A long walk to freedom
In the prison I was treated poorly I had less food then what I normally had, we always had to eat chicken and soup. Every morning we have to get up and exercise until we were told to stop and have lunch late, sometimes we didn't have lunch at all instead we had to work all day. I had to be next to people that were so mean you could run away crying. Every day there was always someone that nearly escaped but they would always get caught.

Activity 2: School Strike For Climate
Things I have learned

  • Lots of children in Australia care for the environment
  • I learned that in Australia this was all happening
  • I learned kids are striking about Climate Change

We get our milk straight from a cow in a milk billy instead of going to the supermarket and having it in a plastic container.

Activity 3: I Have a Dream
Rosa Parks was a black women. In buses the white people sat in the front while black people sat in the back. One day Rosa Parks was sitting in one of the black seats until the bus driver said to her to move so a white person could sit there Rosa Parks thought about it then she said No then Rosa Parks got arrested. This made lots of people angry and many people refused to go on buses. The bus drivers were driving around with not many people in them. Because of this eventually the law was changed so it was fair.

Activity 3: 'Dear Jacinda'
Dear Jacinda Ardern
Hi my name is Johanna Groot and I live on the West Coast of the South Island.
I think swimming lessons should be free because swimming is important, not every one can have the money for it.  Swimming is also a very important thing for people because it can save lives it can even save your life. Every one should learn how to swim for safety.

Kind regards
Johanna
